In a time when environmental issues are more pressing than ever and God's good creation is groaning, how are we theologically and practically equipped as a holiness people for the ministry of earth care?
Join Nazarenes everywhere on Saturday, March 21st, 2026, for a virtual summit that will seek to equip us to be better stewards of God's good creation!
This will be a time of practical education to enhance you and your local church! As a conference, we will glean from leading scholars and practitioners in the field of creation care to further connect our faith with how we live on earth as it is in heaven. This is a conference for pastors and layleaders who are ready to learn and take the next steps toward answering God's call to
participate in the good news of environmental stewardship!

When Earth means Earth and Land means Land: Reading Scripture with Creation-Friendly Eyes with Laurie Braaten (Nazarene Scholar, Author, Ecological Biblical Studies)
The Bible is filled with references to creation (or nature), but many are not fully appreciated because we don’t have eyes to see. Widely held assumptions (especially in northern industrialized nations) can block our view. This workshop will challenge us to re-examine some of our basic assumptions about biblical teaching, literary imagery, the nature of God, etc. which often impede a fuller understanding of the Bible's presentation of nature.
Conservation as Discipleship: Following the Gardener from Pulpit to Prairie with Makayla Johnson (Nazarenes for Creation Care, Expert in Sustainability)
Churches have a profound opportunity to lead in local conservation and community science, thereby enriching both their communities and the environment. Rooted in a biblical call to stewardship and discipleship, this active participation allows congregations to transform their own spaces into models of ecological care and to engage beyond their walls on behalf of their human and nonhuman neighbors. Learn how participation in conservation can act as a powerful living testament to God's love, fostering personal growth, strengthening community bonds, and demonstrating tangible care for creation and neighbor.
Faithful Resilience and Climate Hospitality: Practicing Creation Justice in a Climate-Changed World with Avery Davis Lamb (Executive Director, Creation Justice Ministries)
What does it mean for congregations to serve as hubs of resilience by embodying "climate hospitality" as we encounter
increased human and nonhuman migration, more severe storms, species extinction, and more climate shocks? Explore the Biblical account of climate hospitality and scriptural examples of how this form of caring for one another can inform our work as faith leaders.
The Refugia Way: Small, Local, Faithful, Transformative with Ron Rienstra (Church Engagement, A Rocha USA)
What if the Spirit is calling us not to escape crisis, but to transform in its midst? Drawing on scripture, climate science, and the concept of refugia—places where life clings, heals, and begins again—this talk invites participants into a spiritually grounded vision of faithful living in turbulent times. We’ll reflect on practices of lament, gratitude, kinship, and courage that help us become the kind of people God can use to midwife new life from the wreckage.
